Although, if cucumbers are a prerequisite for having this visitor, it might not be...the closest thing around my yard are the ones in the crisper drawer of the fridge...and unless this guy is especially tenacious, he won't be getting those...
looks like a ladybug. it could also be a cucumber beetle. whatever it is, you've snapped a lovely photo.
